摘要

Azerbaijani and Turkmen officials have resolved a 16-year old gas dispute, removing a major hurdle to improved energy cooperation between the two countries and giving a much needed boost for the prospects of the EU-backed Nabucco pipeline project. Under the terms of the deal, Turkmenistan will receive $45 million of the $56 million it claims to have been owed for gas supplies since 1991-1992. Baku had claimed the debt was $18 million.
