摘要

The southern part of Petra Velikogo Bay with the Tumen estuary attracts much attention of ecologists[1,2].The Tumen River is the greatest continental watercourse flowing into the Sea of Japan,and its estuary lies near the junction of the state borders of Russia,China,and North Korea.The TREDA Project of the UN envisages rapid economic development of the lands adjoining the lower reaches of the Tumen River.However,realization of this project without regard for ecological data can cause essential changes in the nature of this area,which is inhabited by many rare bird species,and where the Russian State Far East Marine Sanctuary is situated near the Tumen Estuary.Hence,to predict the possible anthropogenic impact of the project on the ecosystems of Tumen River and adjacent marine zone,it is necessary to examine the material distribution of the river run-off.
