This proceedings contains 18 selected papers on the role of heavy metals in geochemical processes occurring in terrestrial systems. Some of these papers discuss the general aspects of soil pollution with heavy metals, while the majority consider more specific subjects, such as metal speciation, binding forms, biotic and abiotic transformations, biological effects, phytoavailability, and diverse approaches to remediation strategy.
