Shell makes 'substantial' gas discovery offshore Gabon

Shell and licence partner CNOOC have made a "substantial" gas discovery offshore Gabon following the drilling of the Leopard-1 exploration well, the Anglo-Dutch said on Wednesday. The Leopard-1 well in licence BCD10, located 145 km off Gabon’s coast, was drilled to a total vertical depth of 5,063 meters and encountered a “substantial gas column with around 200 metres of net gas pay in a pre-salt reservoir”.
