TNK-BP plans to invest more than $7 billion in the Rospan gas project, in Russia's Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, by 2040, the company said on Monday. TNK-BP said it will increase output from the project to 16 Bcm in 2020 from 3.5 Bcm last year. In 2012, the company doubled its investment in Rospan, putting $233 million into the project, with the aim of pushing cumulative investment to $7 billion by 2040. TNK-BP’s full field development plan of the Achimov formations in the Rospan fields has so far yielded around 30 Bcm of gas. The first development phase includes the drilling and construction of 276 new development wells and the construction of a gas and condensate treatment unit, as well as export pipelines and a rail loading terminal at Korotchaevo.
