23rd Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists: Part I

The biennial Conference of European Comparative Endocrinologists (CECE) has taken place for almost half a century and at venues around Europe. It returned to the UK again 20 years after the last hosted by the University of Sheffield. The present conference ran from 29 August to 2 September 2006 and was hosted by the University of Manchester. This is of course a European-based society, and this year its meeting, as so often, attracted participants internationally with more than 330 delegates from 31 different countries who contributed 130 oral and 170 poster presentations in 16 symposia.
