For spheroidization and recristallization annealing of rod and drawn wire belltype annealing plants are used.The article describes new design features of a modern bell-type annealing plant.Metallurgical results and the mechanical properties of the annealed wire rod with respect to spheroidization and decar-burization are discussed.Finally experimental investigations of the decarburiza-tion of wire rod are explained.
