Indian Oil Co. (IOC) executives are revealing some details about a proposed petcoke gasification project at IOC’s Panipat, India, refinery and petrochemicals plant. In an August 30 essay published in Chemical Industry Digest (India), the officials reveal that IOC is considering a project that would involve gasification of 1.3 million metric tons per year of petcoke, supplemented by coal to meet gasifier feed specifications.
