Altona Wins Extension of Coal License Tied to CTL Project

Australia-based Altona Energy announced June 3 that it won a two-year extension from the South Australian government for coal-exploration licenses that are tied to the company’s proposed “Arckaringa” coal-to-liquids (CTL) project. The license extension follows a “successful renewal application submitted in May by the Arckaringa JV partners, CNOOC-NEIA [China National Offshore Oil Corp.-New Energy International Australia] (51% holder in each of the licenses) and Altona’s subsidiary Arckaringa Energy (49%),” according to Altona.
