Continuous improvement and the drive to reduce cost have meant that industry is relying more and more on information systems that automate commercial transactions, manufacturing operations, and product distribution. At the same time, cyber security incidents are on the rise and are regularly reported in the news. As a result, cyber security performance is now being integrated with overall chemical industry security initiatives. The Chemical Sector Cybersecu-rity Program has been in existence since early 2002, with the mission to enhance cyber security throughout the chemical industry. The program consists of senior level company representatives from trade associations, representing more than 2,000 companies worldwide led by David Kepler of Dow Chemicals.
