摘要

A systematic study on teaching and learning goals in an introductory meteorology course: are students learning what we want them to learn? The Atmospheric Science program at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee regularly offers the general educationcourse Survey of Meteorology. For many students this is one of only two natural science courses they will take in their college career. In addition to its laboratory component, this popular course includes two lecture hours each week, offered in two orthree large sections with typically 250-375 students served each semester.
