High-precision machining: The autocorrection ensures the accuracy of the machine

After the advent of CNC in the '70s, electrical discharge machining and laser technologies in the '80s and HSM in the '90s, we are now seeing the development of autoadaptive machines. Still undergoing research the principle is in the main adopted by certain manufacturers. The subject of autoadaptive machines has already been developed during a conference organized by CT-Dec within the scope of the Simodec show in La Roche-sur-Foron (France) last March. We must go further north in France to discover the 1st standard machine worthy to be called an autoadaptive machining center. It is in fact in Clermont en Argonne that Real-meca has developed its own autoadaptive machining system. We must point out that the French manufacturer is not new in this field as it has already done pioneering work in high speed machining, simultaneous 5-axis machining and bar work on machining centers.
