VGO drives 1H increase

FSU products exports rose by 3.8pc on the year to 81.77mn t in January-June, largely because of a surge in vacuum gasoil (VGO) and naphtha shipments. Total exports of VGO from FSU countries increased by 13pc compared with the first half of 2016 to 8.31mn t in January-June. At least 6.1mn t/yr of vacuum distillation capacity and 5.3mn t/yr of delayed coking capacity was brought on line in Russia in 2015-16, leading to a surge in VGO production and an increase in availability for export.
