PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force allocation controller and a driving force allocation method for a four-wheeled-drive vehicle, which suppress an excess variable control of a driving force allocation ratio to reduce a behavioral change of the vehicle due to the variable control.;SOLUTION: An ECU 21 for allocating drive force comprises a CPU 22, a ROM 23, a RAM 24, and an input/output circuit 25. The CPU 22 decides whether setting the engaging force of a driving force transmission unit 7 to a four-wheeled-drive tendency mode or to a two-wheeled-drive tendency mode on the basis of sensed signals from a throttle opening sensor 32 and a steering angle sensor 34, which are traveling status parameters. When the throttle opening sensor 32 and the steering angle sensor 34 repeat sensing and non-sensing, that is, when the four-wheeled vehicle repeatedly accelerates and decelerates or clears a curve and runs straight, the CPU 22 controls the engaging force of the driving force transmission unit 7 to give priority to the four-wheeled-drive tendency mode over the two-wheeled-drive tendency mode.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
