World's first colour, multi-material 3D printer

3D PRINTING Stratasys, the US and Israel-based maker of 3D printers and rapid prototyping equipment, has announced the release of the world's first 3D printer to combine colours with multi-material 3D printing. The Objet500 Connex 3 Colour multi-material 3D printer uses a triple-jetting technology that combines droplets of three base materials to produce parts with combinations of rigid, flexible and transparent colour materials, as well as colour"dig-ital" materials, in a single print run. As with inkjet printers, the new machine combines cyan, magenta and yellow, in differing proportions to create a virtually unlimited colour palette using three colour materials -Vero Cyan, Vero Magenta and Vero Yellow.
