Screw and barrel manufacturer Xaloy claims that its nXheat induction barrel heating technology can cut energy usage compared with conventional heater bands and is especially effective in high throughput injection moulding applications.Xaloy's electromagnetic nXheat induction barrel uses a high frequency power supply and helical induction coils to generate heat direcdy within the barrel wall.The non-contacting technology enables a thermal insulating layer to be interposed between the coils and the barrel,which Xaloy claims drastically reduces heat losses while increasing efficiency.
