We agree with much of Burnett's thoughtful comments and acknowledge some of the study limitations he describes [1 ]. We agree that the true goal of patients undergoing nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy (NSRP) is the postoperative recovery of natural erectile function (EF). However, to date, no strategy investigated provides the definite answer, and another clear goal for these patients is to improve EF early following surgery and to retain the best response to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5-Is) for patients who require assistance.
