Major rubber group Hexpol will capitalise on independence

Swedish engineering group Hexagon AB successfully spun off its global rubber compounding and product-making business this June as an independent operation, called Hexpol AB. "We have been enjoying being part of the Hexagon Group ... [but] we have been growing quite rapidly. The board, and we as well, thought that this was a good time to separate the two companies so we can have our own board and work independently," Hexpol chief financial officer Anders Lyrheden told ERJ, in a 15 July telephone interview.
