PetroChina Co. Ltd expects to bring on stream its 150 000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (br) facility in Sichuan, China, by the middle of next year. The opening of the new facility, operated as Sichuan Petrochemical Co. of PetroChina, had been delayed by the Chinese government, which required the company ensure the plant's environmental safety due to its location next to a river, said Wang Guilun, executive assistant and senior engineer for PetroChina Refining & Chemicals Co., Science, Technology & Information.
