With the Jaguar C-X75 and Nissan GT-R Nismo, their makers took a shortcut by calling on the engineering expertise of Williams. What have the unlikely pairing of the Jaguar C-X75 and Nissan GT-R Nismo got in common? The answer lies in a corner of Grove, Oxfordshire, at the home of multiple Formula 1 world championship-winning team Williams, where a bespoke engineering division was set up three years ago to develop the firm's expertise in, among other areas, road car development and testing. The ultimately stillborn C-X75 was the catalyst for setting up Williams Advanced Engineering. Five G-X75 running prototypes were completed this year and are currently on demonstration duty for Jaguar around the world. The GT-R Nismo, unveiled at this week's Tokyo motor show, is the latest publicised project to have been developed under its auspices. Why 'publicised'? Because not everyone working with Williams wants to shout about it, lest it detract from their own glory.
