CPF Technology is a high pressure spraying process for pulverization of liquids. The powder form product is generated by combining liquids with solid powder form substances. In the food industry a powder form raw material is often preferred to liquids if small quantities of a certain product (e.g. flavours) have to be mixed homogeneously with a matrix, or if processing is very difficult due to the consistency of the liquid (e.g. viscous or sticky substances). The application of supercritical carbondioxide enables gentle processing of the material with the CPF technology. This means in the absence of oxygen and at low temperatures (-10 deg C to 0 deg C). Substances sensitive to oxygen or temperature, such as essential oils, fragrances or seed oilswith high contents of unsaturated fatty acids, can be processed without quality loss.
