Achieving substrate wetting and crater-free paint surfaces

The new "AdditolVXW 6503 N" universal wetting and leveling agent from Cytec Industries is a polyether modified siloxane. The product improves substrate wetting in a wide variety of aqueous, solventborne, and solvent-free formulations, including UV/EB curable formulations. The specific siloxane tenside structure used in the product leads to a dynamic surface tension reduction and improved static surface tension reduction. As a result, the wetting agent provides optimal substrate wetting and anti-cratering performance without contributing to foam stabilisation or impacting intercoat adhesion.
