摘要

A new technique for determining the diffusion coefficient of silver ions in glass, based on obtaining limiting diffusion current densities by dc electrolysis in an electrochemical cell, is presented. Silver iodide is used as a filter allowing only the movement of silver ions to the electrodes. Thus, by direct application ofFick's First Law the limiting current is related to the diffusion coefficient and concentration of silver ions. The data obtained are in agreement with literature data.
