The use of DBTL, one of the most versatile metal catalysts in polyurethane reactions, is becoming difficult owing to its toxicological profile and changes in classification and labelling. Because of the unique features of DBTL, the task of replacing it is quite challenging. The most promising replacement catalysts are based on bismuth carboxylates.
