Zinc pigments provide good corrosion protection in waterborne alkyd resin paints,but storage stability is very poor.Coating the zinc to improve stability interferes with its anticorrosive effects.It is shown that the volatile inhibitor I-nitro-propane allows good performance to be retained even after extended storage.
