Special co-monomers for solvent-free decorative paints

Special monomers have been used to design high performance latices to be formulated in solvent-free and odour-free emulsion paints.These latices based on these special co-monomers have a low minimum film formation temperature of 0degC.In addition,they have a particularly low content of residual free monomers and are prepared with environmentally friendly surfactants.These latices are thus particularly suitable for solvent-free and odour-free matt and silk emulsion paints.The resulting solvent-free emulsion paints exhibit high performance levels especially reqarding scrub,mud creacking and blocking resistance.This work highlights the impact of the process used to manufacture the VV based latices on the resulting latex performance.
