Ecological issues are rising

Corrosion protection is an aim since steel (and other metals) has become one of the most important materials in industrialised construction. As high-alloy steel was and still is an expensive way of corrosion protection, (organic) coatings have always played an important role because of their possible field of application, processabil-ity and, last but not least, their relatively low costs. Therefore it makes no one wonder that still on about 80% of all metal surfaces world-wide to be protected from corrosion different paint materials are applied. Organic coatings have always been a target to research and development and many developments have become technical state-of-the-art.
