A procedure is presented for the simultaneous determination of total trace elements (Pb, Bi, Cr, Ni, Sn, Be, Co, Ga, Mo, Nb, Se, Y, Yb, La, Ce, Mn, Ti, Zr, V, Zn, Cu, Ba, and Sr) in solid soil samples by atomic emission spectroscopy using an arc argon two-jet plasmatron as the source of spectrum excitation. The reliable stability of plasma jet, the low detection limits, the low effect of sample composition on analytical results, and the selection of optimal regime for the functioning of the generator and registration of spectra permitted the simultaneous determination of 23 elements from the same portion. The detection limit was n X 10~(-4)-n X 10~(-7) percent; the variance was 4-9 percent. The systematic error was insignificant.
