Based on the Russian soil classification, the assessment of the soil cover and the reserves of arable lands was performed for the southern Far East taking into account its administrative division. Six groups of soils were distinguished according to their location, properties, and use. The rating of the arable lands was performed, and they were categorized in terms of erosion into strongly, moderately, and slightly eroded soils. The ecological state of the soils was considered according to their humus content, acidity, and the contents of available phosphorus and potassium.
