Acid dyes based on n-3-hydroxyphenyl-8-quinoline sulfonamide system

The heterocycllc dyes,using quinoline moiety,have been very recently reported.In view of this,it was thought interesting to undertake the synthesis and study of dyeing properties and performance of some new azo acid dyes.N-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-8-quinolinesulfonamide (NHPQS) :It was prepared by the method reported earlier.N-(3-hydroxy-4-R-azo)-8-quinolinesulfonamtde:A clear solution of NHPQS (l.515g;0.005 mole) in NaOH (15ml;10) was cooled below 5deg .
