Market trends pull seed sector: Nunhems and Syngenta are analysing how best to respond to consumer demands in the their respective sectors as part of an effort to engage with the supply chain as a whole

Europe's leading seed companies are redoubling their efforts to make connections up and down the supply chain so that they can produce a wider range of new products that are more in line with customer preferences for taste, health and convenience. Inrecent weeks Nunhems and Syngenta have each organised their own invitation-only events at which they examined the prospects and problems for the brassica and watermelon sectors respectively. It is clear that while much has been done, there is still a lotleft to do. As part of a week-long series of open field day events at the end of September, Syngenta's vegetable seed division combined with Best Fresh, one of Holland's largest fresh produce groups, to host a seminar on the challenges for the brassicasector.
