Land use planning in this Italian region is described with special attention to planning tools for protected areas. Regulations on the zonation of protected areas are outlined. Data on regional parks and nature reserves in Emilia Romagna are tabulated and guidelines for regional planning in parks are discussed. Special attention is paid to agricultural activities and rural buildings.
