Essential services, personnel, and facilities in specialized epilepsy centers-Revised 2010 guidelines

This document was developed by the members of the Committee to Revise the Guidelines for Services, Personnel, and Facilities at Specialized Epilepsy Centers. After discussions with the general membership they were adopted by the Board of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. The Guidelines will be reviewed and updated when considered necessary by the Board. This is the third iteration of guidelines adopted by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). The initial document, published in 1990, established guidelines for services, personnel, and facilities that characterized specialized epilepsy centers (NAEC, 1990). The revised guidelines published in 2001 (Walczak, 2001) were a further step in the maturation of epilepsy centers.
