Description of the Larva of the Stonefly Brachyptera transcaucasica Zhiltzova, 1956 (Plecoptera, Taeniopterygidae)

The male larva of the stonefly Brachyptera transcaucasica Zhiltz. (Taeniopterygidae) is described from North Ossetia. The Caucasian fauna of the family Taeniopterygidae includes the three species: Brachyptera brevipen-nis Zhiltz., B. transcaucasica Zhiltz., and Taeniopte-ryx caucasica Zhiltz. Probably, a record of T. nebulosa L. in the Caucasus is doubtful and needs to be confirmed by new finds of adults and larvae (Zhiltzova, 1956, 1964, 1981; Cherchesova and Zhiltzova, 2003).
