Some biochemical changes in Amaranthus leaves following infection by white rust pathogen

Leaves of Amaranthus tricolor var bengalensis infected with Albugo bliti showed decrease in total and reducing sugars and increase in phenolic compound at the early stages of disease which diminished later on. A substantial depletion of anthocyan in pigment was also recorded in the infected leaves.
