摘要

In an attempt to standardize the in vitro germination of hybrid pansy and petunia, seeds were inoculated in 1/2 MS media after disinfecting with HgCl2 (0.1%) for 8 minutes. The maximum percentage of germination (76.6%) in pansy was observed in dark condition at 18 C when half portion of the seed were placed into the 1/2 MS media where as in petunia maximum germination (86.6%) was observed in light condition at 24 C when seeds were placed on the surface of medium. Some germination in petunia was observed at each temperature except at 14, 16 and 16 C under light condition.
