Detection of contamination by oils, greases and waxes on surfaces to be coated

A professional production of the corrosion protection of steel structures requires that the surfaces to be coated are free of visible and visually invisible contamination. The set of rules mainly contains methods based on the wetting behavior of liquids as suitable options for the detection of greases, oils and waxes. For the application of the water spray test, findings obtained on a real building and on test panels are communicated. Furthermore, experiences with testing using test inks are reported.
