Revalidation and revision of Dyolania LABOISSIERE, 1931 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae, Galerucinae)

LABOISSIERE (1931) described Dyolania antennalis from West and Central Africa as type species of a new genus. Later (LABOISSIERE 1939) he described further four species from Angola and Tanzania in this group. It was synonymized with Luperodes MOTSCHUSKY, 1868 in the last printed catalogue on the Galerucinae (WILCOX 1973). As the current revision reveal, both genera are very different in external and genitalic structures, and Dyolania is herein revalidised. Type specimens of most species are studied,and all other species are found as not congeneric to the genotype. They need to be transferred to other groups in subsequent publications. Dyolania antennalis was described two times before as Luperus oculatus JACOBY, 1903 and Luperus thomsoni JACOB Y, 1906. Thus, the newly combined name is Dyolania oculata (JACOBY, 1903). The genus is revised, comprehensive illustrations on external and genitalic patterns, and photographs of the primary types, including those of the synonyms, are given.
