2004-THE YEAR OF THE FIRST COMMENCEMENT OF GRADUATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS AT THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING OF THE UNIVERSITY OF RIJEKA

On the 22nd of September, 2004, at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rijeka the first eight students were solemnly conferred a degree in electrical engineering. They are: Zoran Grba, Damir Majcen, Aleksandar Susa, Eduard Vivoda, Ciprijan Matic, Neven Pavlovic, Vladimir Valentic and Neven Vujnovic. At the commencement the presence of the rector of the University of Rijeka, academic Daniel Rukavina, as well as of the rectors Prof. D. Sc. Katica Ivanisevic and Prof. D. Sc. Josip Brnic, testifies the importance of this event. The beginning of the teaching process of the undergraduate university study of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering was preceded by longstanding efforts to change the fact according to which Rijeka was the only one bigger centre in the Republic of Croatia where experts of such a profile were not educated.
