摘要

Matsubayashi Tsurunosuke (1894-1932) (1) spent two years in Britain between 1922 and 1924 and during this time he built a Japanese-style, three-chambered, climbing kiln at the Leach Pottery in St Ives. Researchers of the history of British Studio Pottery suggested that the main purpose of his visit to Britain was to rebuild the kiln at the request of Bernard Howell Leach (1887-1979). However, the author's recent article on the subject shed light on the fact that Matsubayashi's visit to Britain was not initiated by Leach.
