Study on the Desulfurization of Microalumina Bonded MgO-CaO Refractories on the Molten Iron

Basic refractories perform desulfurization of molten iron. In this study, SiO_2, Fe_2O_3, TiO_2 and earth oxides are harmful to desulfurization for microalumina bonded basic castable. This is because of the formation of 2RO centre dot SiO_2, RO centre dot Fe_2O_3, 3RO centre dot 2 TiO_2 and 2RO centre dot REO. There is almost no resulfurizing in microalumina bonded MgO-CaO refractory crucibles with the increment of soaking time.
