WISCO's second Continuous Pickling Tandem Cold Rolling Mill now on stream

The boom in the steel industry in China has also affected production units involving cold rolling and strip processing section. Many Chinese steel producers use the continuous process of pickling and rolling, which is relatively new and has not been implemented widely in other steel producing countries. Siemens has taken an important role in further developing this process. During the 1990s, the continuous pickling and rolling process matured into an industrial stable form of production. The traditional constraints lay in the limited variety mix of the materials (either by thickness, width, or steel grades) and the yield losses due to the constraints in rolling the weld areas.
