Reverse-annulus, single-ended radiant tube (RASERT) technology, patented by the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and licensed to The North American Manufacturing (NAM) Co., is demonstrating real-world benefits in precom-mercial industrial heat treating applications. The technology increases thermal efficiency and reduces NOx emissions while decreasing maintenance and downtime in gas-fired heat treating furnaces. The RASERT system has the potential to increase production rates over conventional radiant tube technologies. It is an improvement to current single-ended radiant tube designs and a cost-effective replacement for other radiant tube configurations. The RASERT design improves temperature uniformity, resulting in higher heat transfer rates, and lowers internal tube temperatures, leading; to longer tube service life.
