As we march ahead in the new century, a sense of concern for the environment has been growing among us. Strict enforcement by regulatory bodies is helping the cause of environmental protection. However this has also led to many manufacturing companies setting up equipments for the pollution control. For the rolling mills & processing lines pollution control is an integral part by way of collection & treatment of fumes generated the respective processes. Depending on the type of product being processed, various acids such as sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric, hydrofluoric, and phosphoric, may be utilized, either individually or in combination, in both batch and continuous processes. Until 1950, sulfuric acid accounted for more than 90 percent of the pickling acid; however, in recent years an increasing number of steel mills have shifted to hydrochloric acid.
