The overall winner of the 2005 Stronghold Awards including the perpetual trophy and top prize of 2,000 EUR for use in their practice was Riverside Veterinary Clinic, Davitt's Quay, Dungarvan, Co Waterford. Riverside is made up of veterinarians Pat Morrissey and Donal O'Mahony; practice manager, Helen Walsh; veterinary nurse, Helen Gould; groomer, Trish Fitzgerald; and, administrative assistant, Clare Cosgrove. Riverside received a total of 30 nominations but each nomination is assessed on its own merit and the winning nomination came from Judy Alderton from Ballinamult, Co Waterford, who wrote:"They are an amazing team. We are so fortunate to have a practice of this high calibre in a small town like Dungarvan. From the receptionist, to the practicenurse, to both vets, all are skilled, efficient, caring and compassionate."
