New records set for wind energy generation; oil and gas output also up

Britain's expanding renewables industry continues to set and then break output records - 2015 was a particularly good year. More surprisingly, the UK's oil and gas industry increased its output last year as well - but this is not expected to last. First, wind and marine trade association RenewableUK has highlight new statistics from National Grid which show that 2015 was a record year for wind energy generation, with onshore and offshore wind farms supplying their largest ever amounts of electricity to Britain's homes, factories and offices.
