摘要

Not a very typical building, but the stacking the accommodation container units used for personnel at the US military Camp Lemonnier in The Republic of Djibouti, Africa helps reduce the air conditioning load-as It Seamus R Nelson of the US Navy writes. After over a decade of presence at the camp, US President Barak Obama and Djiboutian President Ismail Omar Guelleh, signed an agreement recently to extend the camp's lease for ten more years with the option for two additional 10-year extensions. With the extension, officials are making changes in infrastructure that lead to a more enduring, or long-term, presence. Some changes have led to the camp's recognition by the US Department of Energy as a recipient of a 2014 Federal Energy and Water Management Award.
