New research funding to protect Ontario's drinking water

A new scholarship program from Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) will support university-led research for the protection and treatment of drinking water in Ontario. The initiative-a 250,000 dollars Water Research Scholarship and a first from the consulting engineering community-is aimed at developing practical tools to meet new industry regulations in the aftermath of the Walkerton water tragedy of 2000, where E. coli went undetected in the city's drinking water.
