Pacifc basin crudes pressure July ANS

Competitive prices for Pacifc basin grades have pressured Alaskan North Slope (ANS) as summer approaches, a time of year when increased refinery demand usually narrows its discount to Brent. Current discounts to Brent crude suggests that Russian crude would break even with July ANS. And several Asian grades have become increasingly competitive on the US west coast as they have fallen to the lowest levels since October, including Malaysian crude Tapis, Vietnamese Bach Ho and Indo- nesian Minas. But delivered costs for all three grades climbed over the course of the week.
