Key Chinese producers keep coal prices unchanged

China’s major coal producers Shenhua, China Coal, Datong and Yitai have rolled over their April domestic prices to May, despite an increase in domestic coal supplies and lower coal consumption. The producers have kept prices steady for their products across all grades for May sale, with their price of NAR 5,500 kcal/kg coal pegged at 392 yuan/t ($60.49/t) on a fob Huanghua or Qinhuangdao basis. This is the second consecutive month that the producers have kept the prices unchanged, after raising them by Yn20/t in February and March.
